Moving towards a more sustainable world requires a reduction of a million tons of emissions per year in the coming years. Electrification of roads can play a key role in reaching this goal.♻ Sweden is a pioneer when it comes to electric road systems. 🚗The Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) has identified roads where electrification is possible, and four different solutions have been tested at demonstration sites. Trelleborg has contributed to this project with tailor-made sealing solutions. This is a very demanding application, and the seals have to provide a reliable sealing function against water ingress into the rail system whilst also maintaining the electric conduction to the pickup connection area.
